Dovard Knop

Funeral services for Dovard Knop, 83, of Baileyton will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2005, at Welcome Baptist Church in the Baileyton community, Bros. Terry Blankenship, Jerry Leak and David Stancil will be clergy, with burial in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.

Gober Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Knop died Tuesday, April 19. He was born on May 6, 1923, in Cullman. He was a farmer and a member of Welcome Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas David and Flora Miller Knop; and a son, Chester S. Knop (1966).

Survivors include his wife, Versie H. Knop of Baileyton; four sons, Roy N. Knop of Hanceville, Larry E. Knop Sr. of Clarksville, Tenn., Spencer D. Knop of Hopewell, Va. and Marshall C. Knop of Elmore; four daughters, Betty Juanita Brindley of Madison, Shirley Sweatmon of Jasper, Joy Meherg of Hulaco and Beverly Knop of Cullman; two brothers, Junior R. Knop of Baileyton and Driscal Knop of Cullman; a sister, Myrtle H. Bennefield of Baileyton; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
