Solomon lived in Orange and Chatham Counties, SC and was on Pendleton District, SC census in 1790 and 1800, before moving to Murphree's Valley in Blount Co., AL, which was settled by and named for him. He organized Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church in that area, and was a Baptist minister. He was a veteran of the American Revolution. Some disagreement among researchers as to whether there were 2 or 3 wives and which children belonged to which. Solomon, wife and oldest 6 children on Pendleton District, SC census; Solomon, wife and 10 children in Pendleton dist. in 1800 census. In 1850, he was listed in Benton (now Calhoun) Co., AL, age 92.
