Spring Meeting

May 2, 1999


COL Cullman Home in Cullman, Alabama

Hugh Payne Brindley called the meeting to order at 1:51 p.m. Members were in attendance from the Bangor, Wales in the United Kingdom, Texas, Florida, Arizona, Tennessee and Alabama.

James Brindley opened the meeting with a prayer.

Members attending introduced themselves with their ancestry.

There were no minutes from the last meeting.

Old Business - Hue Payne Brindley
There has been discussion about buying a chair to place at constitution village in Huntsville, Alabama to commemorate Gabriel Hanby, father of Nancy Stuart Hanby the wife of Mace Thomas Payne Brindley.

Hugh Payne Brindley submitted a new slate of offices for the next two years.

Helen Brindley and James Brindley were recognized for attending all meetings since the creation of BIHF.

The Gabriel Hanby cemetery at Locus Fork was cleaned. Kay paid for the cost of cleaning.

James Brindley has been approached by a members of a reenactment group who wish to make presentations to the BIHF. Dues were proposed to be $10 per year per person and no more than $25 per year per family.

The motion was proposed by Betty Jane Brindley Chalfant and seconded by Mary Wimbs. All were in favor.

There was discussion to change the members dues structure from a two year cycle to a one year cycle.

The meeting adjourned and a family group photo was taken on the front steps of the Col Cullman Home and Museum.
