James Thompson's Company This is the list of tithables in Captain James Thompson's Company taken by Stephen Trigg . James Thompson was captain of the militia in his area. At this time Captain Thompson was living on Back Creek. Stephen Trigg lived at Dunkard Bottom (now beneath the waters of Claytor Lake. So, this list presumably includes most of the heads of families of the present Pulaski County area in 1772, while a part of Botetourt County. Tithable lists did not include the names of children, indentured servants and slaves.
