Lead 10 wagons west to Cass Co., Texas in about 1871
Ivey Hill bought 100 acres of land in Fayette Co., Georgia. He remained there until 1849 when he moved to Randolph Co., Alabama. When Randolph Co., was divided he wound up in Clabourne Co., and is listed there in 1870. Soon after 1870 at age 60 he took his family and led a wagon train of 10 wagons west to Cass Co., Texas.
Lucy was a Methodist and Ivey Hill a Baptist, and since Ivey would not marry her as long as she was a Methodist, during a revival meeting at the near Baptist Church, Lucy slipped out of her home, joined the Baptist Church and then they were married.
