Graveside service for George Knop, 80, of Trinity will be Friday, June 24, 2005, at 2 p.m. at East Lawrence Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dallas Culver officiating and Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Knop, who died Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at his residence, was born April 24, 1925, in Cullman County to John F. Knop and Ruth Manley Knop. During his working career, he was employed at Valley Stockyard and was a truck driver for Holland and Woodard and Construction Services. He was a Baptist. Mr. Knop was preceded in death by his wife, Inervell "Cricket" Knop; and his grandson, Shannon Terry.
Survivors include three sons, Jimmy "Snake" Knop and wife, Shelia, Harry Knop and wife, Connie, and Chris Knop and friend, Paulette Long; four daughters, Ruth Fuller and husband, Jackie, Charlotte Brown and husband, T.J., Connie Cooley and husband, Max, and Diann Maxwell and husband, David; two brothers, Frank Knop of Eva and Dale Knop of Cullman; two sisters, Lib Chambers of Holly Pond and Imogene Hopper of Eva; 16 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Doug Fuller, Donnie Lowery, Steven Smith, Joey Terry, Mickey Terry, Mike Johnson, James Archer, Brooks Peresich, Mel Eddie, Jim Knop, Chris Osborn and Curt Osborn.
