James Brindley called the meeting to order at 2:30 p.m. Prior to the meeting Keith and Linda Brindley Thompson hosted lunch at their home.

The meeting started with a tour of the Wedgwood collection. Pat Millhouse gave a very interesting and informative tour.

There were several first time attendants and Winston Yancey Brindley had the most descendants present. Lets keep the Grimes family (Dorothy, Harry, Hoyt and Eunice) in our prayers.

Minutes: the minutes from the Fall 1999 meeting were read and accepted by the group.

Old Business:

Brindley Mountain Project - Nancy Brindley stated that the web site www.BrindleyMtn.org is up and getting hits from all across the United States and the UK.

Special Guests: Mr. John and Rosamund Williams and their daughter Lydia and friend Sara Povey from Cheadle, Staffordshire, England. Ros paints pottery and her father retired from the Wedgwood factory and her sister currently works for Wedgwood.

Trip: Our next trip to the UK will be in 2002 for the 250th anniversary of the Brindley Mill. The tour will also include Brereton Hall, Bangor, Wales and Ireland. Specific dates and prices will follow at a later date.

Genealogy Report: Polly Bowen, wife of Asa Riggs Brindley, lost 6 sons in the Civil War. She only had one son survive. We need to have some type of memorial service for her.

Thomas Payne sold his house to a Brindley in Newport , Rhode Island between 1685 and 1695.
In 1705 William Brindley Came to Georgia. In Newport there is a Brindley Inn and a Brindley Street.

Program: Brigadier General Bertram Chalfant presented a lecture on James Brindley's work with Josiah Wedgwood.

It was suggested that the Fall 2000 meeting be at the Tidwell Cemetery with a memorial service and marker dedication for Phoebe Brindley.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:13.
